All about Shopify Receipt Printers

Although a receipt printer is not essential for a Shopify POS system (you can send receipts via email), one is required if you wish to open your cash drawer automatically. The cash drawer connects directly into the POS Printer via the DK (Drawer Kick) port which is a RJ12 connection similar to a telephone style cable. 

In order to print paper receipts, your setup will need to include: Shopify POS on iPad, Shopify plan or higher and a supported Star Micronics or Epson receipt printer.

The Recommended & Supported printers for Shopify POS are below:

Epson TM-M30II Bluetooth Receipt Printer (C31CJ27212)

Star Micronics TSP100III Bluetooth wireless receipt printer (TSP143IIIBI)

Star Micronics TSP650II Bluetooth wireless receipt printer (TSP654IIBI)

 

When you buy receipt printer, you may notice that the name is shown on the front of the printer as TSP100III. This is no cause for concern, as this number is referring to the entire range range of Star Micronics printers. Specific models can be found at the bottom of the receipt printer when you turn it upside down.
